When the news about the release of the movie version of the Japanese manga hit Dragon Ball Z came out, a lot of its fans were surprised. But the surprise was brought by another issue…Americans starring and even directing the movie version of the Japanese hit. This sure has created an issue regarding ownership and franchise between the United States and Japan.
This issue is not new however. America started with the series programs for kids such as Power Rangers and Ultraman. The seemingly appearing as plundering of the Japanese works by America have continued and reached its peak with the said release of the movie version of Dragon Ball Z (Dragon Ball Evolution in movie). It was true that the fans of this series have waited for its movie version, but it was a real surprise that not the Japanese actors have taken the stage. However, credits are to be given to the staff as well as the actors and actresses that starred the movie for making such a good emulation of the hit series that have earned its name as the longest running Japanese anime series.
